The Way It Moves
I have been recording for a few years and have done a few different bands' work. I wanted to break into doing voice overs and a few other things.

What I want to know, is how do I get my name out to the corporations that need work like this done? In Omaha, there are lots of advertising firms, corporations, companies in general that would use voice over work, but go to other studios.

I wanted to offer my services for free, which is what I have been doing for a while to get my name out there in the music scene. But how can I break out and pick up a few clients to build up my reputation? I haven't done anything yet to reach out to them, so I wanted to look for some tips on here.

I suppose I could solicit, but I feel a lot of companies frown upon that.

I assume you have a studio, but is it up to par with the studios in your town? No reputable client is going to go for a spare bedroom studio, even if it is free. If you want work like that it might be better to go up to one of those studios in your town and try to get a job or internship there. Build your name through them while you save up a million bucks for your own studio
