To EQ or not to EQ that is the question?

This all has to do with translation to other rooms and systems. Actually, there are TWO aspects of EQ. One is EQ'ing the tracks to taste, and the other is EQ'ing because your ROOM is lieing to you. In respect to the latter case, NO AMOUNT of EQ will fix the problem. IF your control room acoustics and monitoring environment produces typical small room response, then you are fooling yourself TWICE. Once when you record the tracks, and a second time when you mix. Untill you can trust the acoustics of your control room, you will be second guessing the translation of your mixes over and over.
