Tired of the same sounds

Dear froum,

I know that this question has probably been posted about twenty five million(+1 times).
I currently have an Alesis QS6.1, and I just need some new sounds.
I have sampled a little by downloading from the internet and then into the PCM card via Soundbridge software.
I am looking for a sampler set, or module, with decent strings, funky bass, and in general sorta weird but easily distinguishable if I were to play chords and scales.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks for all responses

I would first try some of the cards from Alesis... they have samples and patches and some of the cards come with alternative patch sets. You can also buy sample CDs with wav files (most useful for loops or one shot sounds like percussion) to dump via soundbridge.

JV-1010

IF you just want a bunch of very good sounds and don't really want to go in and tweak stuff too much,I would reccomend the Roland JV-1010.The sounds are quite good and there's like 1000 of 'em.But it's a bear to modify the sounds 'cause the user interface is 4 knobs.I hear it's a little easier to do when you hook it up to a computer though. It's got some of the best guitar sounds I've heard from a module and a good variety of synth sounds.
