No problem, we're all here to help each other....What ever keyboard you use should make to much of a difference, some midi control keyboards just have more features to alter the sounds, but as long as your using good sounds to begin with you should be straight....The ASR-10 is a sampling keyboard made by Ensoniq. It has a lot of good effects, and ways to chop, and alter sounds, but it doesn't have it's own internal sounds...I use my MPC to do my drum patterns, and sequencing, and then record it to pro-tools for premium sound quality.

I have a Roland XP-10 that's just sitting as an ornament in my studio right now because I went and bought the midi controller. I always hated the midi cable so it was time to get something more smaller and portable with the USB. Now I can take the Oxygen8 anywhere, plug in Reason, make crack beats.

?

I wouldn't mind getting a mpc but there a lil too expensive for my budget right now.Is there any other sampler u would recommend thats good but not 2 much?As far as the midi i'm definitely gonna invest in one,i checked out the oxygen8 but not the asr-10 yet.the oxygen8 is definitely affordable. Also does Reason come with alot of good sounds?Kinda of a late question considering i'm going to get it in the morning.lol..guess i'll find out tomorrow..Thankz again.

If you listen to my beats you can hear a lot of Reason stuff... I'm migrating away from it now.. But it got me started....

Again.. Thanks for the compliments....

Yes, as far as I can remember, I used reason for both (except for the guitar on Thanks A Lot.)....

One thing that you might run into starting out is the "techno" sound Reason wants to make naturally (I'm still not over it completely).... You gotta make sure that your composition (music theory wise) is in line with the style of music you wanna make or you'll have a hard time....

My point is... there will come a time when you wanna just blame the program....but most of the time it's the timing or the progression that isn't in tune to the project...

Thanks

from what i see and this is just my 20/20 on it start with reason it saves you a lot of time learning stuff that you wont need like software specific stuff. plus there a re mobs of sounds out there

Kinda like Kanye says..."keep baggin' up this here, crack music..."

Yeah, Reason tends to push you in a "techno-ish" direction at first.
But that program is limitless, with the right know how, you can create any type of music known to man. Shit, you could invent music not known to humans.

LOL, yeah, i felt like a kid waiting for christmas when I ordered it too.
They F'ed my shipping up, so it ended up taking over a month.
Every day was a let down. But once it arrived, I was instantly hooked.

Whatz up Bbuy..in a couple posts before u were talking about layering sounds. What do u mean by layering sounds?are u talking about having one sound on 2 or 3 different tracks with different FX on each one?

Try "mousing in" some notes in the sequencer (looks like a keyboard on the left).... That should give ya some noise from the other instruments.. Just keep reading that manual til it all makes sense... Search for some tutorials maybe...

Here's one about the Malström ..
