Well since I will be seeing Zakk's BLS this weekend @ Krockathon 10, I decided to whip up a cover of one of my fav's from him off the "Book Of Shadows" album........

No drums.......because I am not a drummer and can't program them lol

Throwin It All Away

Check it out!

Very cool...I liked the harmony and accoustic. The only other comment is regarding the gtr solo; turn it up and maybe a little less delay.

Have fun at the concert...Zakk is the man!

Very Nice!!! Cool tone on the guitar, and nice voice. Fits very well. And I agree with turning up the solo just a bit. I could hear it, but it didn't stand out all the way. Geez, that's my only bitch. Louder solo.

Nice ... Don't think the solo needs to be up but the delay needs to be less as mentioned prior. Great job!

Cool thanks for your comments guys! Yeah I was trying to replicate the solo as best I could. I know there is a delay on the studio version, but I may have over done it. ;-)

sounds great! nice tone on the vocals and guitar.

what's your signal chain?

what type of guitar?

Vocals were done with a Studio Projects C1 straight into my MOTU 828

Acoustic GTR is a cheap fender with The LR Baggs Dual Source system.
I recorded the acoustic using both the C1 and the on board pickups, again straight into the Motu.

Electric guitar is a Gibson Les Paul, into POD XT (I believe I actually used a factory preset for this lol) then into the MOTU.

DAW is Sonar 3 pro.......w/ waves Platinum Plugins

Compressor on all guitar tracks was Waves C1
Vox I use that rchannel or whatever its called, its just a combination compressor and eq vocal channel strip.
For reverb I used the Lexicon plugin that comes with Sonar.

Thats it!

Thanks for the reply

Nice job recording that acoustic. It sounds very nice.

Not too familiar with ZW body of work - but the recording stands up pretty well on it's own legs.
