I found the perfect (for me, anyway) solution for a stand for the Tascam 388:
GALANT T-leg - IKEA (x2)
GALANT 200.805.57 FRAME 31 1/2" (can't find a link anywhere)
I basically bought a desk with T-legs without the tabletop piece. Fits the 388 perfectly, and in my space, fit like a glove between my wall and desk.

Cost me $80.00 US +tax. (Legs: 60, frame, 20) The first awesome thing is, it is just the right size for the 388. Secondly, for me, I have my desk and the 388 sandwiched into a concave part of the wall I built (it's basically just big enough to fit the desk and the 388 side by side) which the 388 had been sitting on a 2-tier keyboard stand since I set it up, but I needed the stand
So this was pretty great. I removed the middle foot from the bottom but I don't think it's centered on the panel anyway so leaving it on is probably fine. It's also adjustable to be the perfect height if you're sitting in a comfy chair!
You can do A-legs also, but the reason I went with T was it seemed heavier and sturdier (even though they adjust via allen screw on the side, they seem to be snug), and because the feet are flat, screw-on type, I figured if I ever need to I could probably match up the threads to a set of casters and make this thing roll. But the important thing is I can now get underneath it if I need to, whereas before because of the X-brace of the keyboard stand, I couldn't get to anything and pulling it out was a nightmare.
Anyway thought I'd share since there isn't really anything out there unless you build it yourself, and this is basically that minus the labor.
