Getting your songs loud?

Do you mean making your songs loud like the commercial CD's? If this is the case, you don't need all that stuff.

You will never get any "I can master it myself" comments from me, I know better.:D
 
Why not?

Mastering your own material has been discussed in other threads. I happen to think you can master your own material though having someone with much more experience and more specialized tools couldn't hurt.

So it really come down to what you decide you want to do or what you think is best for your music, regardless of what anyone thinks or says.

Actually I do master my own stuff but my knowledge and gear are lets say, rather limited so if I ever get a CD's worth of material that is mixed well I plan on having a qualified mastering engineer master it for me. First thing first though...I need some good mixes! :)
 
The gear in question is broadcasting gear, not audio mastering gear
