I hope I'm not breaking any rules here, but there's a new member on this bbs called emser who posted a link in the sleepy old songwriting forum to a song (s)he did called Miracles.

I absolutely loved it, and as there are many here who don't go to that forum I just wanted to mention it here - seems to me the mix is almost there but not quite - maybe somebody here can help?

You have to scroll right down to the bottonm of Emser's soundclick page to get Miracles.

Hi all and tnx Garry!

I just joined this bbs today and didn´t know where to post my mp3:s, so thanks for guiding me here. I have a little projekt called "Makro" with me behind the all the weels and a friend of mine behind the mic. The songs on my soundclick page that are included in the projekt is: Miracles, Red Skies, Silver and Close Up. I would very much like to here your opinion on them. And dont be nice. We have no plans for our music it´s just for fun, and that it is.

I have to agree. These songs not only blew me away, but that girl's voice is incredible! Emser, I don't care if you're just doing this for fun, I want a copy when it's finished! Just let me know how to get one. Keep up the great work!

What's going on in Sweden that creates all this talent? Some of my favorite bands are from there - granted they're not around anymore - but apparently someone's still carrying the torch. This is really good stuff!
 
Hey, emser, I concurr, this is very well-done stuff. You should try and push it. It would go somewhere, I can almost guarantee you that. My question was this. You've got a very good thing going in your mixes, sounds very clean, but I was wondering if I might have a go at mixing Miracles, just to give it my own touch. This is strictly for kicks, but I just want to see what I can do with it. I'll master it for you as well. Check out the public mix contest thread and give my mixing techniques a listen. I primarily record and produce rock and metal, but I have acoustic credits, and I LOVE mixing clean stuff like this. Just let me know, you can whole heartedly reply with a BITE ME if you like. LOL. You wont hurt my feelings.

Thoughts on "makro"

My intention with "makro" was to not think, only to feel. To sort of get close to the feeling of the music and not to analyse it or to adjust it to who ever would listen to it.
I try to start of with a feeling and then just fiddle along that road and see where it lands. I try to give my friend (the girl who sings) as much freedom as possible with the melody, and she does wounderful things.
It´s all recorded in my room with a POD, samples for drums, pianos.organs and syntz (soundfonts) I run all the guitarrs, song and bass through my joemeek vc1 record it in logic and master it in my t.c. "tripple c".

I will have to get back to you producerkid, my whole "studio" is down due to moving, and it might take a while before i get it up and running.
It´s a beautiful thought thou, to let someone else mix your infants.
