Hi to all,
I have Steinberg UR44 interface and digital piano connected to the line inputs 5 and 6 on the back panel, (with two mono cables) but the sound is pretty quiet, even if I turn the volume knob all the way up

..any ideas what can it be?

Instrument outputs tend to be fairly low compared to true line outputs.

Thank you for quick answer

so what would be soulution for this?

Front panel inputs are already occupied..

Two (or a stereo) DIs, then into the mic inputs. My Korg can't drive my line inputs hard enough - they want more like yours.

Except that Gillette says the front XLR inputs are otherwise occupied.

Now, I've read some interfaces will drop the level if TS is used instead of TRS - can't recall if that's in or out, so I wonder if that has any bearing on this?

if you short the ring to the sleeve to unbalance it, then you lose 3dB - bit otherwise I don't know how the interface would actually adjust a level, I've not seen any 'clever' interfaces that detect an unbalanced signal and adjust the level - cool idea, but 3dB isn't much in the huge dynamics scheme of things nowadays.
