Still awaiting Noisedude to post something not completely bereft of musical talent, much less production abilities...
BUWAHAHAHA!!!! Remind me where I've EVER claimed to have recording talent?? Or pretended to be a pro??? I have called you out on your sense of humour though - if you reckon you can out-joke me then come and post a rip of me in the other thread.

Sorry to hear you had to give this band their money back, by the way. I guess you could only keep the facade up for so long.

For being all direct this manages to be pretty tubby. Nice panning on the toms... were you imagining a 30' wide drum kit or are you just an idiot?

Nice autotune on the vocals... or too much chorus.

Also, you need to discover this thing called "high end." It helps a recording sound good.

I won't lie and say this is horrible, but it's riddled with mistakes even I stopped making 10 years ago.

Sorry, but no cigar buddy.

Quit while you're ahead.

Your excuses are paper thin. Today so far you've accused me of using autotune and drumkit from hell, both ABSOLUTELY wrong.

You need some ear training. Surely a pro would know the difference, right?

After hearing your mix I will never take you seriously again.

That is all.

*toilet flushing*

Then maybe you need to go to HomeJoking.com?

Heh. That wasn't finished and I did it on my own time. Heck, we aren't even done tracking that song yet. In fact, that wasn't even the song I was going to do but it was the only one with enough vocals to call done.

I knew it wouldn't take much to shut the Seifer down anyways. I figure my sucky mix beats his best mix any day.

However, I am thinking of composing a wonderful song for you and the rest of my fans.

Jesus, your voice sounds like that naturally?

Maybe you should take up the triangle or cowbell. Much less annoying, and it goes with rock music better.

Oh, big surprise there! You've been nothing less than a total bleeding twat that brings NOTHING to the table but your lame attitude, and lamer recordings borrowed from someone else.

Actually finished product usually sounds like this:

that's more like it - conviction behind your work.

Can someone impartial and professional help me out here? This track sounds very well mixed to my inexperienced ears and now I don't know what to think - I'm moving along my learning curve backwards here.

Getting a good mix generally means you had 2-3 bad ones before it. The trick is to spend a lot of time with it on as many different speaker/rooms as you can, and "mull it over" for a few days. I had one really terrible one of this song I posted about 2-3 weeks ago that got totally ripped on--and all I wanted was confirmation/feedback because IMHO the new studio I'm working out of has some acoustic issues in the control room (it does--we're working on a solution now).

It is not advisable to do what I did with the first mix--which is to halfass it and take it home to master it while you have a sinus infection.

It is even less advisable to post it if you have half as big a mouth as mine. :)

Mixes are subjective though. What sounds good to one person is crap to another. For screamo bands like WBA a lot of what is "great" in that genre isn't my favorite way to do things. Oh well, they pay for it.

Admitting you have a problem is half the battle.

I already posted a whole page of stuff recorded, written and played by me. You ignore what I say and hear all kinds of artificial stuff that aint there. You are no pro, not even close. You are just another home recorder like us which is why you are here.

Have you ever written your own music clonedolt? Do you play anything yourself? I would love to hear what you come up with on your own.

Not likely anything at all.

So in other words you can't mix worth a damn without this board.

ROFL.

I think Jakey has been sniffing the paint at work too much. :)

If that were true I'd have dozens of posts linking to mp3's, now wouldn't I?

In the last 30 days I've probably recorded 50 songs and mixed somewhere in the vicinity of 35 songs. 90% of them I remixed a few days later and made some tweaks. Technically, right now I'm probably officially burned out and need a break (which I will not get).

Maybe you should post some of your masterpieces. You know, the wonderful paint jobs you do.

No, I need to go to HomeRecording.com to learn how to record at home. You need to go to PreschoolSelfImage.com to get your issues sorted out. And then maybe pop back here to learn a few basics like how to mic a snare drum, how to apply compression and reverb, y'know, stuff like that.

In fact, I'll do it with you. Keefe and the Cloneboy, together at last, learning how not to be shit. As long as you promise not to masquerade as a professional engineer in the meantime. :)

Nah, I'm just giving you back a little of your own medicine. Seems that you can dish it out, but taking it isn't your forte'.

I was a home recordist up until a few months ago, now I work at a studio.

Admittedly I have stuff to learn still--mostly on getting my best results faster.

Maybe if you search around you'll find some of it I did at home. No vocals because, unlike some people I know, I realize that I can't sing to save my life.

Unlike hobbyists I no longer have time for my own music. By the time I get home the last thing I want to hear is music. However, I have been playing guitar/piano a lot more rather than messing with recording myself.

I mean after you get home from a hard day's painting I don't imagine you suddenly feel the urge to redo the bathroom, now do you? Didn't think so.

I'll think about you when I deposit the thousand bucks I made this week recording.

:D

When I get home after a hard day's work pretending to be a house painter, I like to go online and lecture other people on how they shouldn't try painting themselves, but have it done by an expert like me. I make thousands a month from colour-blind people who believe there house has been painted, but don't really know what paint is or what it's used for.

We are not so dissimilar, are we Cloneboy?

No, I seem to be taking it pretty well, not difficult considering you haven't been accurate with any (not one) of your observations. you tell me I use auto tune and turn it around to make it sound like that makes my voice bad for rock, you are a joke.

Yeah, like actually doing your mixes without the help of us lowly home recorders.

Is that supposed to be a burn on my voice? You are sad, I am fine with my voice and some people actually dig it a lot. You can't sing and the jealousy is killing you.

Actually I did that already so no, I wouldn't redo the bathroom again. Today I am moving on to the windows and maybe some other fun painting stuff around the house. I regularly come home from painting for 10+ hours to do some more of the same around the house.

See, I actually like what I do for a living.
You stopped doing music because you know you suck at it. You didn't make $1000 this week, and if you did those people have a refund coming.

Who would you recomend they go to? YOU?

You can't even manage to produce a song designed to insult me. I'm not even sure why you are here.

Jake-Owa may be deluded to his abilities (borrowed or otherwise), but at least he has abilities--even if recording isn't one of them. At least Seifer makes an effort.

If you're going to rip on me you should at least put your money where your mouth is. Put up or shut up.

Your confusion is evident with every sentence you type.

You should just take a break man.

I am done kicking this dead horse.

Have the last word there Massenburg.
