Noisedude - you might want to check out the songwriting forum occasionally - Emusic had some very good stuff going on in there a couple of weeks ago, very interesting music...

Will do - cheers! I'm suffering from net-persona-schizophrenia right now ... one minute I'm nice and next I'm nasty ... must be boredom :)

Thanks Garry. It's a bit tricky to find the link so I'll just post it here.
It's a sketch only, not a mix. The male singing at the end is my voice; just as a sketch for the vocalist. She's coming over this weekend to record some more on it.
This is not my entry into the pissing contest though :D

Y’all are a hoot! This thread is entertainment without purpose, like Ashlee Simpson et al. :D Some of you could hire yourself out as consultants to WWE as hyperbole writers. I’m proud to know ya!

It is kinda weird how people love to give themselves vaunted unearned titles. Am I a recording engineer? More than most home reccers I’d guess because my line of work is noise and vibration control and that has a lot in common with recording. Am I mastering engineer? I did that CD for the jazz guy, and it came out pretty good I think, especially for the money they paid me ($0.00). But I’m honest enough to call myself a hobbyist. I think I could do OK as a pro if I had a place, time and tools and a few volunteers to get up the easy half of the learning curve. I’m the best guitarist I’ve ever been but I’m really a good faker more than an actual musician. I write songs but I’m no songwriter or composer.

My experience is that most of the time the people who don’t tell you who they are are the ones worth knowing.

This thread may have been better in the Cave cuz it is kinda scary for some newbies. And for some oldbies, too, I guess. But that Mic Forum! Holy Cow! One of my first HomeRec posts was shredded by no less than Harvey! Well, at least I made an impression…

BUT I am the king of quick, the sultan of speed, the imam of instant! nice b n young was written recorded mixed edited mastered mp3ed and posted in less than three hours. Put that in yer pipe and smoke it!

Whatever happened to kidcrappyhead? Incredibly bad, but if you handicap him for age, it was great stuff.

(Nods to Triumph) this is a great thread FOR ME TO POOP ON!

so who made the Cloneboy Danger Ahoy song. That is some seriously funny shit.

It was Sky Daddy / cat-eggs / Golden Wizard. It is absolute comic gold.

EDIT - I came here because Cloneboy had posted and I got it in my email. Now it's gone. How chicken-shit is this guy?

OK I'm confused. If that was Sky Daddy / cat-eggs / Golden Wizard, then how come there is another tune there called Bruce's titty in which they make reference to "Sasha".

Remember when Seifer posted a song about Bruce with the same reference to Sasha?

I'm not saying that they are the same people, but it sure looks to me like they know each other...

REad the Cat eggs=sky daddy thread, he admits it. Listen to his other music, the voice is unmistakable.

The second Iheard the "titty" I knew it was him. I called it right in the thread.

OK I'm a little slow so can you type it out for me?

Cat-Eggs is Sky Daddy. No problems there.

Is Seifer also Cat-Eggs ?

Some good stuff on that Sky Daddy website btw..

Seifer is not. Cloneboy thought that Golden Wizard was Seifer but that's just because he can't hear his way outta a paper bag.

Cool. Thanks for clearing that up.

Now get back to calling someone a fucking fuck!

Ahem!, cough cough:mad:

C'mon fuckers! where are they. Especially Seifer you little prick. I wanna hear your fucken masterpiece.

You got a cough, Dawg? Sorry to hear about that.

Oh yeah, where's the mixes, e-penisheads?

I'm tired of waiting. It's time to move on to bigger and better things.

Consider this my halfass entry. I have too much going on to worry about this self-inflicted nonsense.

I'll worry about trading real blows later on, when I return immaturity in kind.

Clone Boy, Danger Ahoy! :D :D :D :D

OH....MY.....GOD......Okay I won't start off being a comlete but I do have a few things to say to you Mr. Clone.

For one, this recording makes me hope that it was a very fast mix to throw up here just to satisfy everybody. I heard about 5 different things in the first 4 seconds of the song that need some serious attention and make this recording deffinately NOT something you could pass off as proffessional. Ready? Here ya go:

1) Snare is really weak.
2) Where is the low end? Kick is lacking mah man.
3) Guitars sound like a poorly recorded 5150 or Kustom combo. Very paper-towel-tubey-thingyesque. Nice.
4) Vocals need some help. Bad. Compression (if any) is all wrong.
5) Bass is tinny and has way too much of a "hi there im a bass" affect.

Theres more, but if you've gotten this far I'm sure your ready to rip my head off. Do I care? Not really. Am I getting shitty just because it seems to be a trend? Hell no. In all seriousness, dude, if you really wanted to impress us (or get everyone off your back), I would have said fuck it and delayed it another day just to improve the mix and at least Antares the fuck out of the vocals or something. Come on man......if you want respect or warm fuzzies this recording aint gonna get it. I at least like to see an attempt and you gave it a shot. Give us a gear list on the track. So at least I can feel better about my recordings tracked with Behri mics and an Aardvark. lol.

Hey clone...you might wanna' put up a higher quality mp3 - The first thing I noticed is that horrible phasiness on the cymbals/hat, and that could be just a shitty encoder. The bitrate's not helping; 160 is pretty much the minimum you wanna' go with for anything with cymbals...192 is my personal favorite. I'm not being a snob about it or anything, but the phasing on the cymbals is just really really bad and obvious and I wonder if you listened to the mp3 before you posted it.

I know you're leaving forever and stuff, but while you probably don't give a shit about my opinion, I think you oughtta' leave the door open. I think you could really help people around here if you get that "I'M A PRO AND YOU'RE NOT" chip off of your shoulder and realize that we're all just musicians. Believe it or not, you might be able to learn a thing or two also.

Good luck whatever you do.
