Ok, I wanna lengthen my e-penis too! Here's a faders/eq only rough mix I did for a client. Song is not finished yet. Got kind of a Rush flavor to it.

 
Geez another wannabie mixing engineer has joined the whiining choir and started fighting with Cloneboy. It's like the old insults from Monkey Island™(remember?).
Either you have watched too much Monthy Pyton, or you failed to grow up (blaim the government).
Geez guys; there is a time for crying and a time to stand out and post your mixes.
I'm sure this forum will split in witch is the best one, whatever the quality difference might be.
Just post the mixes please; I'm in here to download them and listen through them to see if this mountain of poor wannabie-insults reflects the way you mix.
If mixing was done with your mouth, we would have them here ages ago. Coz you are very productive mouthwise.
C'mon; act like adults - post the mixes.
And btw Cloneboy - I really had a good time reading your list of reasons why the homerecorder might come out better than mixing a band ;)

I figure, if everybody else is willing to show what they've got, why can't the 2 people who started this thread do the same? Stop trying to bust up our fun here. Hell, if this thread ends I may actually have to do something productive while I'm at work.
 
Yeah, he asks me to "show everyone how it's done" and then when I produce a mix lightning quick that would probably smoke his ass like generic ciggarette he whines about why home recorders have the advantage.

You can't have it both ways buddy, I showed ya, now show us.
 
Geet - I think that's a really good result for those mics, pres and sound card. Obviously the vocals would be the first thing I'd look at, but you already know that.

Ok, so what if I come up with a mix of a song that could smoke both of the contenders, would that bring some kind of serenity to this thread? This thing has inspired me to write a song and I would love to share it with you guys once I get it recorded......and I will mix the pants off of Seif and Clone. No questions asked.

Producerkid - Well ... it's already been done (mattamatta's track was pretty good IMHO) ... and the Seifer's never been a genuine contender anyway. He's got some chops, but he's basically a twisted joke machine.

This thread is really about Cloneboy picking on people and getting all prickly when they pick back!!

Cloneboy - I have some advice for you regarding your mix. You may recognise it .... but I think it applies to yourself now more than ever:

Wow, great advice mate. You really showed us all the quality a 'pro' can bring to a recording. I've not heard anything done by you that couldn't be done in a bedroom with a Mr Microphone and Bruce's pet monkey using a Neve.
 
I should point out that that's a verbatim Cloneboy comment .... great advice to hand to people wanting to try home recording out as a hobby. Why buy gear when you can piss your cash straight into Cloneboy's wallet? :rolleyes:
