im trying to make a voice over with cubase, when i place the word document in front of the Cubase screen, the recording stops,so it seems i cannot have 2 windows open?

in a sense when i hit record ,the text goes to the background, when i bring it to the front ,cubase recording stops

any suggestions?

Open up Device Setup. You can find it at the bottom of the Devices menu. On the menu tree on the left hand side, select "VST Audiobay". Make sure the "Release Asio Driver in Background" checkbox is UNCHECKED. See the attached image.

Cheers :)

ok thanks i think that did the trick for the recording stopping
but how do you prevent the document going to the back when hitting record?
i still have to bring the doc to the front again to begin reading

Nevermind ,i think i have to make the cubase window very small (reduce screen), so i only see the recording button, this way i can have the doc on the side
thanks a lot for your help

If you've got an nvidia or similar video card you can enable "always on top" on any window, in this case the document window. Other than that, i know of no other way to make it stay on top of the cubase window. There might be a free app you can download from the net...

Ah ha. Like this one:

Always On Top Maker

That should do the trick.

Cheers :)
