ive been told they are more of a mid field monitor i do know they sound good thats why i bought them i paid 2000 aud for them which is 1000usd so i feel i did well and i believe they are way above the monitors that were being looked at for a few hundred usd less
ive not used them as yet as iam still in gear build up mode though i feel i would like to get a basic set up going soon i like to use gear to its full extent in warranty period that way im covered if anything goes wrong
yep and 6 months down the track someone would be buying them off most people when they find the sounds in their heads dont translate to their cheap as chips purchases
look im not here to tell anyone how to spend their dollars thats up to them but anyone in bbs who knows their stuff will tell you to save your dollars and buy better gear if you can
as always when someone buys something cheap you get the cheap equipment blues posts about the gear done me wrong and left me all out of pocket again sound familiar .................. well thats why i say what i say
yes you can buy some dam good cheap gear but lets face it you only get what you pay for most times there is always some dam corner cut that comes back to haunt you when you can least afford for it to do so.
The mackie hr824,s are a dam fine monitor for what they are there are many good reviews on them im sure you would agree when it comes to things like audio cable speakers and amp theres no advantage to the end product in sound trying to save money in this department anyway in the end im sure he will buy what he wants
