This is a Mackie 1402 VLZ Pro vs Spirit Folio F1 comparison question (apologies for any redundancy)
I plan on recording with MOTU 1296/Digital Performer using keyboards, e-drums, guitars, and mic'd instruments and vocals (TLM103 with Avalon M5 preamp).
Concerns for mixer choice includes:
Which gives most flexibility (inputs, outputs, stereo, etc)
Better overall sound quality (quiet, headroom, etc)
Better construction (durability)
Better support/service
I don't have access to the Folio for comparison (this brings concern as to "support/service"). Does anyone have familiarity with these two mixers and which would be recommended?
P.S. I've heard great things about the Folio, mixed comments about the 1402. The salesman suggests the Mackie. ?????? Thanks again. Paul

Paul - I've been to both websites and I'd go for the Spirit over the Mackie - mainly because of the 3 band British EQ with a sweep in the mids which is handy to have, and the 100mm faders are definitely a bonus as well. The Spirit also has 3 aux sends over the mackie's 2. Both have similar monitoring facilities but I would seriously look at the spirit
my opinion only
Cheers
