Not to mention that "punk" today isn't even close to the real punk of the 70s and early 80s. It's a pseudo, watered down, vegetarianized, commercialized version that doesn't have the same attitude as the original punk scene. There's no way it can since that scene doesn't exist anymore. It will never be like the original.

To prove my point, the original punk scene was about "not really being able to play an instrument, just enough to play a song." So, for someone to even invoke talking about skill proves that they are not true punk. To say that someone of another genre doesn't have the skill to play punk completely negates their position. If anything, it should be the exact opposite. Original punk players didn't consider themselves musicians. They were just angy guys in a band.

If you asked the drummer from the Sex Pistols a question about how he played something, he'd have poured his beer on you.

I don't know ant people who can't play punk rock, I mean, that's like not being able to play a kazoo! :D ;)

well, to be fair, nofx is just about the most brainless pop rock band ever, the only thing they do right is pay the bands on fat wreck chords very well.

Thats what I find so laughable about Fat Mikes 'punk rock elite'. Elite? Elite? I mean, Satriani, Vai, Van Halen, Petrucci, and various other world class drummers, one-handed bassists, to name but a few could be rightfully described as 'the elite'. But NoFX? lol. The other meaning of elite is a derogatory term to me, so, well, so be it :)

One thing someone pointed out to me is that I seem to only capitlize Nouns and Verbs(and Pro-Nouns and Adverbs) but I don"t know why that is.....

I guess I could get someone to proof read everything i type but that would be quite a Hassle ......At least my spelling is OK, I think...

PS: Sorry If it is anoying but there is very little I can do about it and Personally I don"t think It is a Big deal as I was able to Graduate High School (at 22) and Graduate College (at 29) with a Degree...Better late than never!!!

Yeah, NOFX is one of my favorite bands as well, and you should really try not to take everything they say so seriously...
