I used to not give a rat's tail about these guys, but what I'm hearing and seeing recently really interest me. I was particularly impressed to learn that they are actually assembling their own capsules instead of buying them from other companies. They even make a "SuperLarge" 35mm (~1.38") diaphragm capsule for their Gemini and ICIS models. They also advertise a titanium diaphragm capsule used on other models - what ever that is...

Here's the new SE Electronics website. Check out the new Gemini, ICIS, Sirius, and Titan models. Also be sure and read the Sound On Sound article in the "Notes And Reviews" section. Pretty impressive.

So now I have to decide against the SE Gemini and the Soundelux U195! Hmmm tough decision. Hopefully Ill get to hear the Gemini soon.

Let me know if you get one, always on the prowl. They seem to have high self noise though

I was told that they will have stock to service a “loan” program in about 2 weeks. In their own words:

“They way it works is you get me your credit card details to guarantee return and we send you a mic for a week to evaluate. (no charge is run through the card, just reserved, i.e., the card is verified that you could purchase the mic on it) . If you like it you buy it, if not return it. It’s that simple.”

So supposedly we can try them out.

Who did you talk to? I would really like to check it out

BTW, the warranty was briefly discussed on another thread. I ask him specifically what it was in the US and the UK and he replied:

"...we have a 2 year manufacturer’s warranty for parts and labor, the policy is repair/exchange and the turn around is typically fast."

Didn't say anything specifically about turn-around time in the UK, though.

Yes. But why should you and Kenneth care about turn around time in the UK? Is that where they send all their mics for repair?

Oh.... In Vikki's thread "Best Of The Chinese Crop?" I mentioned SE mics and noisedude said "...With my SE mic I got a warranty card that had to be posted to the States..." and that's why I specifically ask SE about warranties in the UK. Sorry for the confusion.

So did anyone ever try out the Gemini? I hear from a few folks that it's a bit of a gem!

I wonder how it compares with the likes of the ADK TT or CE, as they are nearly the same price in the UK.

Cheers
