Face it the original franker was a POS. Funny you could one together for a couple hundred bucks. 25 k is an outrage.

Ya know. He's been hounded for 30 years with "How did you get that sound?, "How'd you do that?". No one has done anything on guitar since him.

Believe it or not people look up to the guy, google van halen and see how many websites people have started just on his set-ups or his playing.
I imagine it changes a person, I might start to think Why me? Why do these people want my autograph.

what other guitarist has put out like 4 signature guitars with different companies, His own line of amps, and peddle effects.

The dude impacted Rock big time. Now at 53 he's still going, I give him some props. Not to mention the tounge cancer, hip replacement, lead singer bullshit. Let the man be a little eccentric and drink some wine and smoke cigarettes.

That's American Business. 30K for something built for $300.00. I know American workmanship is better than shipping it overseas for 5 year olds to assemble, but criminy....$29,700 better? :eek:

Let's face it; this guitar isn't for a guitarist. It's for the 30ish - 50ish something white collared type that gets paid too much for what they do to buy and hang on their wall to show off at their wife's dinner parties.

Same thing that drives the sports memorabilia business. Some guy who thinks Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is a member of a terrorist group or Paul Abdul's dad will give 5 year's of mortgage payments for Jordan's game worn shoes. Props to Fender for cashing in. Maybe they can lower the prices of the American Strats so the real players can get the good stuff.

yeah they are both from Futurama, which is pretty much my favorite TV show. and the whatchamacallit dream flute thingy is called a Holophoner. :D but yeah i feel the same way about playing guitar as Fry does about playing the holophoner.
 
I know a guy who just wrote THE check!!! $25,000 up front gets your name on the list. He's hoping to get it signed when EVH comes to town. He really did own two of Ed's original guitars, and has talked to Ed on the phone. Said he swore profusely.
