Thanks, man. What do you think about the combination of a 1O on the neck and a 4 on the hole?

Not sure. I'm not too big on the hole myself  but then my guitar has f-holes

Seriously, I'd worry about balance there, if we are talking stereo image. If they are being mixed to mono, I guess that could work out OK. Still, remember that these are flat-response all the way down low, so I'd be happier if you'd said soundboard rather than soundhole.

Alright, I've got 'approval' from the wife (that means I told her I'm ordering so she can't say she didn't know about it :D ). I'm going with the stereo 1Os and a 4. I saw the stereo holder you sell. Is this set up usable for acoustic guitar neck/soundboard or would you recommend two separate mic stands instead?

It's too small for that, you'd need two stands.

Well the early reports on the MSH-4s aren't really in yet. So maybe you'd want to wait a few more days for impartial reports; I have only shipped 15 4s so far.

I've only done very limited experimentation with the thing so far, but it sounded very warm compared to the omnis. I liked the sound in a quick 15 second voice test, which I was not at all expecting from a small (micro) diaphragm mic.... Pretty cool.

One amusing thing about these is that you can plug them directly into your mixer. Maybe I should try it on a cable before I say more. :D

I wouldn't get a pair of 4s, I would get a pair of 1Os and if I wanted the 4 sound (which I do find groovy), I would use it as a center mic and the 1Os as sides in a Decca tree-style arrangement.

Nurtz! I've only got 2 channel soundcards!

I suppose I could record as a stereo track with the Os hard panned and the 4 in the middle.
