Man that seems flamingly hippy-ish. My inner Ramone is telling me to destroy.

Alls ya gotta do is play drums.

Though if you're not into it that's fine....

I mean i guess I could use loops....

Hey guys! I've had a good idea (during a boring essay i'm doing).

I like the MP3 mixing clinic. It's the best sub-forum going. The people here are cool and you always come away knowing more than you started.

I wanna have a bit of fun, but on a grand scale. I've tried a couple of collabs in the past, some have worked well, some havn't got off the ground. I was thinking it would be cool to record a song - any song, cover or original - that involves as many of the people here as possible. Twenty or thirty maybe.

I'm not a great musician or great at recording, but I get a huge kick out of both. There are people here who can do amazing things with drums, bass, vocals, guitars, pianos, strings, mixing, mastering etc etc etc. I'd love to combine all that in one song, I think it would really epitomize the best things about HR and demonstrate the communal nature of music.

So whos up for it? I don't know how interested you guys will be - if at all. But let me say that personally, I'd view it as something 100% wholeseome; leave any conflicts at the door, be open-minded when it comes to things like interpretation and genre, and don't be overly critical if we do get anything close to a finished performance.

Just trying to kick something off here.

Edit: Possibly going with a medley of three songs from the Last Waltz.
:o

I feel horrible about letting you down on that collaboration of "Ohio".

I went on vacation and I forgot about it and I tore my rack unit apart for a rebuild, additions, and rewiring.

I have shit laying everywhere!

It's not a pretty sight.

It's a good thing I drew schematics of the "before" rack. ;) otherwise I wouldn't have a clue how to reconnect all the old freaking wires.

Can ya not just do the whole mic -> soundcard -> computer thing? You're a Neil Young fan and were alive when this thing went down first time round, you've damn sure got more of a claim to it than me!

See how things go, it'll probably be a long project!

I play a mean guitar ya know............not that I'm trying to blow my own trumpet or anything

OK I am I'm freakin' awesome

In a modest sort of way:D:D:D:D:D:D

& anything to do with Robbie Rob & the band, I'm there

Cool I'll pencil you in!

There's no audition, a bit of enthusiasm and the gig's yours!

I was thinking we could do a Bon Jovi tune or something. :p

There is no need, as I have already completely zwned them:

Jon Bon Hilarious

   :D

One take, baby, no punches, no Autotune. As if you couldn't tell :p Although the flub in the intro was NOT my fault, my boy grabbed the neck while I was playing! Freakin' monkey!

PS I almost sold a mic to a member of the Band. True story. Unfortunately he wanted to use it with a Korg recorder, and Korg basically refused to tell me the tech spec of their product, even though their product manager recommended me to the guy in the first place  Thanks for nothing, Korg!

That would have been my third most famous user, after Harvey, and a guy who said he might use it for drum overheads on a session for Eddy Grant. That's right, baby, I'm gonna rock down to Electric Avenue! And then I'm taking it higher!!

PPS Tele, you can stick me on "lead" bass if you wanna :D

OK, I will organize "Helpless" if that is alright with Tele. I don't have a functioning steel string at the moment, can anybody start us off with the chords?

And now you understand why "Winter" took so long... *blush*... :)

Looks like you guys are gonna cook up something fun! Can't wait to hear. I'd never heard of TLW either till now...

I just did a cover of Cripple Creek. Not a good one. Still needs tweaked. Im out on this one :). I think you guys should do "The Night They Drove Ole Dixie Down". But three others are in my mind the only choices. "The Shape Im In" , "Ophelia" or "Look Out Cleveland". Ophelia is a real good one to try. Very recognized song. Ophelia !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
