I may be missing something really basic here, but if I'm the only one playing instruments in my studio, is there any point to walling off a separate section for a control room?

Well, that's the point Fishmed, I'm kind of a one-man-show. I don't expect to ever be tracking anyone but me, so the functionality of a control room is a moot deal, right?

I have a seperate control room and main tracking (live) room. The bigger room is great if I'm recording others, but most of the time when I am recording myself or just one person I use the control room. Having more than one room is nice for drums or loud amps but for most stuff I stay in the control room.
