I agree 100%. 9 times out of 10 when a person splits off from a parent company it starts with this "I am tired of making some other guy rich" "i work my fingers to the bone and get chump change for it" "i should cut out the middle man(my boss) and start my own damn company" "its my bosses fault for not giving me enough money". In other words they are willing to bite the hand that has feed them for their own personal gain.Warhead said:Koj, no offense taken and I appreciate your comments.
I don't work for Karma or own them, however those that are in that position with the company were telling everyone "same as sE" trying to ride the reputation of sE towards success. They were going so far as to say "same factory" etc, again these people own the place and work there.
All of a sudden they realize they don't own the factory that builds sE Electronics...? That, to me, is not an "oops" it's a "busted".
So those are my thoughts on it, again I have no problem with being presented new angles or being told Karma has somehow turned over a new leaf. It still says something to me that the same people who were...to find the nicest word I can here..."misinforming" people that they "owned the factory which builds sE and Karma" are still...the same people now.
They might have removed "sE Electronics" from their eBay auctions or myspace page, but they still DID IT which tells me something about them. Maybe I'm not as forgiving, maybe I am a biased sE dealer who just won't see past Karma's new found truth telling skills.
If Karma is not built by an OEM maker then I am wrong, for the most part I was assuming that Karma's fictional statments of owning the same factory that does or "used to" build sE microphones would mean OEM. If somebody wants to tell me there's a Karma factory that isn't building mics for anyone else then I'll take that info to the bank. Either way my main intention by popping into this thread was to react to the statement that Karma can somehow say sE is "too expensive" when the fact of the matter is they both have different expenses and approaches to the market.
Who anyone does business with is their choice, but they're different mics from different places and two companies playing by different sets of rules.

Its like that "king of the hill" show. when hank and a quick talking salesman are in a run by their boss to see who is top salesman of the month. The smooth talker gets abunch of people to buy more than they need to make quick sales. Hank has a guy come up to him wanting to buy a grill that day. Hank would not let him. Hank said "i want you to take the papers home on the grill and look them over and see if its right for you before you buy". Hank didnt sell a grill all month untill the last day. That guy came back and said "since you wanted to earn my business and cared about me i will take a whole truck load of them".........Hank won the monthly sales and the other guy lost his job.
Respect is the most important part of business. Quick sales at the cost of doing what is right will cause the mistrust and downfall of ANY company(just give it time). Quick sales die out but respect last a lifetime. I will call a peice of shit a peice of shit right to its face. I dont hide behind the internet. that is my real name and my real location. I am in the phone book if anyone wants to find out my address it would only take minutes.
I feel the same way about my cartoon. I would rather fail and be a laughing stock than step on anyones toes and screw people over to get to the top. Fuck it, if i fail, i fail with pride(a lost breed these days). I have got to get up and look myself in the face everyday and i want to like what i see. I wont pimp my cartoon on here and give links to previews or for that matter even anounce the name of it. It has nothing to do with recording and i am here to learn not sell.
warhead you have earned respect from me. that means my next mic will be bought from you and you alone. If i had a worker that split from my company and tried to undersell me and take my business i would have done exactly what sE did but with lots of lawyers. It goes back to that old saying "screw me once shame on you. screw me twice shame on me." I dont give second chances to those people.
I am not here to tell people they should not buy karma. that is their own choice, so feel free to shell out 5 bucks to get that mic if you want it. good for you and your deal on a decent mic. good for you for the ability to get a cheaper deal than me on a similar product. I am also not here to put karma out of business. This is just my opinion and should be read just as that. I will let people make up their own minds about karma. I wish karma the best of luck. if they are here to make a better product for cheaper than sE and not for greed i hope they do, but they dont have my business(not that it matters to anyone in this world but me).
if you want proper spelling and grammer put spell check in the post box. its 2 am and i am to tired. i work 2 jobs for a living (my cartoon and my factory job).
even if karma sent me a free mic i would send it back un opened let alone pay them money.
good day to you both![]()

No i was plenty sober(i dont drink). I was however and idiot who got sucked into this thread, but i did post what i truly belive. I wish i could let threads like this just roll off my thoughts. I guess i need to grow up a little more. After all i am here to learn how to record not fight my opinion. To be honest i dont give a crap about karma so why bother. I hate when i do this because it takes my attention away from my goals. This is the reason i stay out of the cave 99.99% of the time. It is that "ONE TIME" that takes so much away from what could have been a productive day of new knowledge. This is my last post on this thread so feel free to get the last word in. I dont have enough hours in the day to learn let alone fight with someone over "made in china" mic's. Good day to both of you. I have got learning to do.kidvybes said:...funny thing here is that you and Warren share something in common...you both make elaborate statements based on a lack of information...he has never seen or used a product, but he chose to condemn it based on an entirely false premise (for which he later apologized, because the truth is Warrren is a "standup" guy)...
...now you come along (equally misinformed) and give a sermon about "respect" in the world of business...obviously you know little about the concept of respect, especially when it concerns "sombody else's" business...you have little or no information about the true history of this company (Karma) yet you make a rather naive generalization about how people spitefully leave one company to start another competitive company (did I mention "naive")...making uninformed blanket statements about somebody's else's business history in a public forum is in the least very "dis-respect-ful" (some might say slanderous)...
...dude, you need to get off your soapbox and get a reality check...your entire rant is the product of a lack of information and a very naive understanding of business...competition is the heart and soul of a capitalist system...it's what allows you to purchase from a broad selection of the products you want at "competitive" pricing...and new companies "growing" out of more established companies is a building block of a fair and balanced marketplace (you'd prefer monopolies?)...if you knew how many of the products you've purchased were the result of a similar business evolution, you might think twice before making such sophmoric statements...
...I mean damn, you're posting on a musician's website...how many bands were started by a member of a "former" band...or for that matter, how many cartoonists have served an apprenticeship working on another cartoonist's strip before going out and establishing their own original strip?...duh...
...I'm gonna show you a little "respect" and assume that your sermon was just the result of a Friday nite binge, and excuse it...next time, concern yourself less with "spelling" issues, and concentrate on content (when other people's business history is the subject)...![]()
...oh yeah...one more thing...I have already purchased mics from Warren as well as frequently recommending Front End Audio as a reliable and trustworthy source on this and other audio sites...and I will continue to do so in the future...so feel free to choose from whom you purchase your microphones...you live in a open market capitalist society..ain't it sweet?...![]()
