The operating level switch.
The purpose of this nifty little button still eludes me.

can anyone tell me, do I want it set to +4 dBu or -10 dbV

what the hell are dBu and dbV



recording is starting to piss me off.

Most professional oriented gear uses a +4 level. Most semi-pro and home components use -10 level.

If you are unfamiliar with this, then all of your gear is probably looking for a -10 level. Keep the switch set in that position unless you find out differently.

dbu and dbV are different methods of measuring signal using different references.
