How would I go about getting a rewind sound. Like if you were in your car and you rewind you hear that song playing in reverse at like 15 times speed. Would it be just chopping the sound into small bits and playing them in reverse at a faster speed? Any other ideas?

Thanks,

yeah, i bet that would do it.
put it in sound forge or something. reverse it, and then time stretch it.
i dont see why you would have to chop it into small bits though.
or, i bet you can find that sound online and sample it.
i found one a while back. i'll dig it up and post a link if want.

I figured I wouldn't just want to reverse to wav. because pressing rewind doesn't sound like a reversed sound. But then again, I've never tried it and sped it up. Let me give it a try tomorrow. If you can find that and post it, please do.

Might be worth chopping it into bits and time stretching each one progressively faster and higher pitch, to give the illusion of it gradually picking up speed. Did the same thing but in reverse once to simulate the sound of someone stopping a record.

instead of chopping it, couldnt you reverse it, time streatch part of it and make it longer, than time stretch the whole thing and make it shorter?
not sure it this would work, just popped into my head.

ahmmmm . . .
do a search on kazaa ?
