That Nady Ribbon is out

I'll be tracking some electric guitar this week-end.
My amps won't be exactly roaring, as I'm just in a regular flat, but you'll be updated on my findings.

My tbone RB500 has been with me for 3 days now, and I'm still extremely pleased. This is only my second ribbon mic, the other one being an Oktava ML52 - but I have enough good mics here to get a notion of musical quality (Neumann M269c, U47 tube, RFT CM 7151 etc...).

Premature verdict on the tbone ribbon => Flat out winner - serious.

Well Chessrock, I took your advise and bought one. I don't have much to compare it to, just some Shures, a Beyer M300 and an old 421, but from the vocals I heard it's a keeper, in fact I just ordered another one from Paul at ar-online before the prices go up.
From what I've read on other forums, some real pros ( not guys like me :p ) are singing some pretty high praises of this mike and it's Euro cousin, the T.bone RB500. So I'm hoping they will be an all round do everything, in a very nice warm way, including be my overhead drum mic's.
I also want to thank the guys here that take time out from thier recording to help newbies like me. In a few wks I've learned a ton of stuff from what mikes and preamps would suit my needs to how to acousticly treat my room, record vocals and that really cool way to set up the overheads. recording-man ;)
 
please do post, but i think i'll get it anyway, it'even comes with stand and cable (hilarious dont ya think...) and the price is equal to a sm57!
 
This Nady ribbon sounds tempting, but I've owned a Nady TCM 1050 and can't get past the quality control issues I heard about. Mine sounded alright, but the diaphragm would overload with very little sound pressure. Made it useless. I've heard others complain about folds in the diaphragm. Any of you have other Nady mics?

Since I've started recording stuff about a year ago, the only mics I've had are a set of Nady drum mics. I use the two condensers (CM-88's) to record almost everything with pretty good results. But they're not really a matched pair and sound a little different from each other...
 
I don't own any other Nady mic's and have no interest in them. I don't even know if Nady has a factory ?? but I'm quite certain that the RSM-2 is made in a factory in China and it is the same mic as the T.bone and I'll bet with the success of these 2 mics we'll see more of them at the NAMM show. Hopefully the price will come down here, cause it's odd that the T.bone sells for less in Europe than the Nady does here.
 
The best price I've seen is on EBAY. There is usually a BIN for $259. If I had the $ I would get it. Sometimes I see all these cool mic's and pre-amps and it's like porn. Eye Candy. I find myself staring at a Brauner VM1 Klaus Heyne Edition, undressing it with my eyes, thinking of all the places I can do it and in what position.......................................uhhhhhh, I came, and I see a Manley Referance Mic.
