Is the CM4 any good?

...the CM-4 was offered in two versions...the stock OEM chinese version (same as the Cascade Elroy and the CAD Trion 8000)...later Peter offered a limited edition version with upgraded caps and a set of NOS tubes, for varying performance...not a bad starting point for a basic tube LDC mic...certainly not in the class of the CM-6...not even close in it's stock version...

...the only similar mics will cost you a whole lot more dough (Advanced Audio CM47 - $735, and the Peluso 2247 short body - $1299)...if you really want a CM-6, send an email to Peter requesting the next offering date...his email address is on the stellarmics.com link...

Just a bit rich for a young brand.
I certainly did think about it though.
If I ever come across one second hand, I'll probably go for it.

Yup the 6s are cool but I have PLENTY of tube microphones (what the heck a few more couldn't hurt) but I've been waiting on the 5s a LDC!
