Dude, you have that totally backwards. Edison and Marconi were members of the Five Man Electrical Band (along with Fessenden, Ampere, and DeForest). It was Tesla that ripped them off!

I kinda like the idea of the Tesla Coil... although I don't think anything capable of some spectacular lightening would be portable. Most likely it will require a space that will fill the club itself...

Well, this is an audio/music forum and I'm an audio/music guy. If I want a stage production, I'll go to Vegas. If I want music, I'll stay away from Vegas (And if I want advice on how to rig a light show, I'll head to a relevant BBS ).

As a home engineer, though, maybe a 30-ft lava lamp on stage might be homey.

And, yeah, seriously speaking, I'm not sure just how one would handle the power requirements for a decent Tesla coil on the road. 220AC probably ain't gonna do it.
