Of course having a Fodera or this fretless wont hurt,

(I am not selling that bass or in any way I kow the seller, I just think it looks beautiful.) ;)

I play a Rick 4003. It's about 5 years old so it can handle heavey guage strings and the new neck feels just right for my hands. The stereo out gets you alot of nice sounds running each pickup into a seperate console input or 2 different amps.

I have had a great time recording with a Jack Cassidy Epiphone. The sound didnt turn out so bad either, but my personal favorite is my Engleheart 3/4 upright with the fishman pickups...its what a bass is suppose to sound like, in my opinion.

I have a fernandez tremor 5 deluxe, then I fell in love with m,y Carl Thompson 6-string frettless with emg DC35 pickups and an emg active pre (oh i love that bass) after that i got my conklin 7-string and conklin 5-string which are the 2 I play out the most with now, Both have bartolini bridge and neck pickups, great tone, and tvery customizable sound

I just picked up a 5 string Traben, and I may never need another bass again!

you shouldn't waste your time with such a silly instrument.

real men don't need tones that low.

Just because a B string is too much for you to handle dosn't mean it's a bad idea. Please make a note of it.

Blasphemy!! Unbeliever!

Fender P Bass!!

I'm really a guitar player, but always love and still use

Fender P Bass
Even the MIM Basses rock!!!

Ibanez soundgear for me, but me bassist use a spector, and an Ernie Ball.

I've played & loved quite a few bass guitars mentioned but haven't had the quids to own one. I really enjoyed playing a Rick but of the 2 I own my fav is my...
Vantage.
Has a reasonable tone that is easily manipulated but outboard effects or inside the box.

I've got Fenders and Ricks galore, but I'm currently sleeping with my Butterscotch Blonde Fender 1951 P-Bass Re-Issue. I was blown away by it when I finally got my hands on one. Deee-lish!!

Fender P

I would not say it is "The Best" but it is what I like. P-Bass pick ups, passive, Bartolini or Dimarzio.

Yamaha BBN5A

I play a Yamaha BBN5A. It's got a variable mid contour on the guitar that you can turn on and off and choose the Q factor, active electronics, +/- 18 dB boost on low, mid, and high eq with variable center freq's. 2 single coil alnico p/u's. Neck through construction, cool single tailpiece.

This is my only bass, there is nothing you can't do with it. Paired with my Fender 300t, and 4X10 David Eden XLT I get lots of compliments.

Lots of people rag on yamaha, but this is the bass that Nathan East uses. It sounds really good. Deep with lots of clarity, and a pronounced midrange. Sounds good on tape. Big neck on it (like a modulus) so kind'a hard to get your hands around at first, but it settles in really nicely.

If you've got a couple of grand that you don't need...
