Technical question.....

wasnt sure where to post this, but anyone who knows anything about electronics will find it....


I was wondering about building a multi track...i know it can be done, but can it be done with a HI-FI VCR deck????

If a person had the knowledge or what not, could something like this be done with parts from Radio shack , or is building a multitrack out of reach with those kinds of parts..and more so, with a VCR????

just curious.....VCR sure kills cassete in sound quality and dynamic range...

anyone with a tech background let me if this is possible...

Sure it's possible.... but not with parts from Radio Shack...

The Alesis ADAT transport system is loosely based on a VCR tranport system... come to think of it, it would be cheaper for you to just buy an ADAT!!!!

I don't think I've ever seen a Craig Anderton project on building your own multi-track.... I can't believe it would be a cost-effective DIY project...

The transport from a VCR would be cool but the headstack would be the problem.
