Tech21 Sansamp Bass DI

Oh, and if anyone wants a rockin guitar amp, take a look at the Tech21 Trademark 120! It has 3 channels, each of which is basically a GT2, and then separate reverb, boost and master volume controls. The beautiful thing is that any channel can take on any characteristic. In most 3 channel amps, channel 1 is clean, channel 2 is overdrive, and channel 3 is lead, but on the TM120, any channel can be set to any style. You could have 2 different clean tones and an overdrive, or 3 different distortions, or whatever you want.

Hey, thanks for all the responses... Its' 7:35 AM here, and I am giddy like a schoolgirl before her first dance! LOL

I will let you know how it goes, and see if they have any MXR's there (I didn't see any the last time I was in there, but I was focused on find the Tech21...)

it's an excellent Bass DI box and worth having in the ole tool box...

Let me know how that works out Rokket.
I will post again in this thread, for those who are like me: on the fence about all things like this, and avoiding G.A.S like it's the plague! I'll let you know what I find. I am also going to see if they have other Tech21 gear there, or any other good bass DI's or pre's...

Dam!
I shouldn't have read this thread.
Now I want a M80 and the closest personal gain holiday is Fathers day. :o

Dude, I'm sorry about that!

guys guys, big question here:
i spent lots of minutes thinking about this:

i don't have any compressors left, gonna record a band, hehe,
what will be the result if i run a bassguitar trough my

sansamp psa1 (guitar preamp)

there's no built in compressor, only drive, distortion, bass, blablabla

can i safely record bass trhough this or will it fuckup?
i'm gonna use clean settings, i know that if u use distortion u got some kind of compression, but thats not what i want in a bassguitar

Yeah yeah, me too, and I didn't even know it, but it nails it.

Well, things didn't go as planned :( , but I still have tomorrow to go and check it out :)

I love this pedal. It gives an AWESOME tone for heavier rock/metal/hardcore music. Really defined and it can get a nice distortion too. I've gotten some really nice rock tones out of it too. I suppose it would work for softer music too, I haven't tried. It also will make any bass rig sound a million times better.

Nope, Mama had other plans for me.... I guess it dawned on her that I would have the entire weekend off, so I had to go through my "junk" and throw out useless items so that we aren't dragging it all over the world with us when we move. Funny how it's "stuff" to you, but it's "junk" to someone else...

Not that you really need it, but here are two more big thumbs up from me for the Bass Driver.

Now that I've gotten into recording I've found that it gets a great sound going direct to the recorder (used to be a Layla, now an HD24). I initially bought it for live use when I was playing in a metal band. I ran it in my effects loop for some overdrive, and also ran the XLR out to the board. Now in my new band (more of a heavy sludgier sound), I plug my bass (70s Gibson) into a Boss Bass Overdrive, and run that into the Bass Driver. The XLR out of the Bass Driver goes to the board, and the unaffected output goes to my cranked silverface Bassman through an Ampeg 8x10 to get my stage sound. I can tell you that I'm never more pleased than when I hear that sound pounding through the FOH mix and I can feel it shaking the room. I've had members of national acts that we've opened for ask me how I get such a great tone (their words, not mine).

I'd go so far as to say its probably the best thing I've ever bought for my bass setup. If only I could've done as well as my cousin when he bought a bass, amp, and Bass Driver for $75...

Having said that, it's about 2 hours until I get to go! I am being the good father right now and watching my daughter because the wife had to go to work.
This is killing me! I can't take her there because she is 3 and wants to touch things I can't afford to buy when she breaks them, and I couldn't devote the proper attention to what I am doing.... oooh, come on clock, tick faster!
