I'm not sure how I feel about this mix. I think it came out pretty good I guess. Better than my previous stuff. Are the vox too low? Drums too low? It's also my first attempt at real screaming vocals. I compressed the pee out of them and doubled it up. I didn't know what else to really to do with them.

There's a bit of a long guitar intro that I may cut. It's about 45 seconds long. If you skip to 38 seconds in you can get right to the song :p

Anyways, if anyone has any comments, I'd appreciate it much.

I like the guitar solo in the begining. It kinda gets you in the mood. Very cool solo too.

i think it sounds pretty good. the vocals need something though........they dont sit well.......i think maybe there's too much lows and or low mids.

Getting the vocals to fit always seems to be a problem for me. I can never seem to get it right. Guess I'll play with the eq more.

I like this tune, it's very original. Kinda punk for the verse and pure madness in the choruses! that's tight.

I thought the vocals were good (espescially the screaming part) right up to the verse where you doubled yourself. Maybe you should try a phase effect or reverb on the doubled voice, sometimes I'll use a pitch shifter and just pitch it down by a 'hair' and it gives me a pretty cool phasing effect. Those are just some things you can screw with though.

YIP original, its good. Not that good recording but the song is good. Would be good to hear the vocals better. Bring them up alot in the mix and try double tracking all the vocals and eqing differently. Maybe one track could be all mids and nothing else to get distinct vocals and the other channel for the warmth and body of the vocal. use diff effects like comp on each channel .Play about for a while with all the tracks playing at the same time and put the song on a loop. Just try and try and try and if it doesnt work, then you have recorded it badly.

Thanks for the responses guys.

I know the quality is not that super. I did it all on an Mbox in my room. I can't get my amp up loud enough to get a really good sound out of it, and I'm not really a vocalist. But I think it sounds pretty good for what it is. I'm using Pro Tools so I can try all this stuff.

Thanks again for the comments!
