I don't have a head demag yet (yes I know, shame on me:o) and there is a Teac E-3 being sold locally. How well would that work on a TSR-8? Should I just drop the $ on a new Han-D-Mag?

Don't know about the TEAC JJ but my Han-D-Mag covers everything I need. I'm glad I bought it. Good piece of kit.

The E-3 is a good unit too. How much for the one that is local?

I also have the Han-d-Mag and it is awesome. Got it used in VGC for $60. If the price is good on the E-3 I'd get it, but if the price isn't that much different than a used Han-D-Mag I'd be gettin' the Han-D-Mag.

He's asking $40 for it.

I have been using the E-3 for 15 years. I think it is great. I now have 3 of them.

I have both as well. I use the Han-D-Mag on my TSR-8 and the E-3 on 1/4" half-track and cassette. I could use the Han-D-Mag on 1/4" just as well but the E-3 gets the job done for 1/4" or less. If you have more mass, 1/2" heads and above I would go with the Han-D-Mag.
