I like the lead vocals & electric guitar. It's a fun song. I've seen Jello live a few times in SF and I can see how this would be ideal for Alternative Tentacles :) The heavy metal intro is hysterical.

I know you didn't likely have much say in this but I'd do anything possible to loose the instrument that sounds like an acoustic guitar with a pickup and trade the entire track for a mic'd acoustic to get a more natural guitar sound. There's a lot of reverb on the percusion, a little more than I prefer. The violin sounds a bit far away in the mix on some parts.

I like it. The bridge is brilliant. Must have been a blast to record!

ok, i confess, right before they came in to track i bought a Avalon U5 direct and a nice new gibson J45, so i went a little di crazy.
Looking back i shoulda mice'd it, but oh well it works.

And personally i lOvE the distant violin.

Thanks for the listen! :D

You don't happen to track to an analog?

Nope, but i do use analog channel by Mcdsp.
Its a bitchin simulator, and the best software compressor i own.

dramatic stuff...a lot of interesting changes. It's like some kind of square-dance horror music...pretty cool! not much to add here, but it sounds like you've got a lot of stuff going on here...it must have been a delight to mix! :)

Thanks for the review Rob.
Much appriciated.

The acoustic guitar is bugging me. Too much hi end maybe not enough body, but i suppose you had to get it too fit in this very full mix. This is a very weird song and mix, but i give you credit for it. Think the backing at 3.00 could come up to really thicken up the track. Is it a piano i can hear, just soo much going on, must have been a challenge to mix.
A bit rough, but considering, i think it is pretty well mixed.
Good stuff.

Meh its the Di'd acoustic guitar.
Ill Never be doing that again, totally fucked up the track IMO, and i couldnt bring the guitar player back because they had allready flown back to california.

Puts hand on THE MIX BIBLE:

I soulemnly swear to never track acoutic guitar di'd again.

Anyhow thanks for the review.

No problem. DI acoustic guitar is a bad idea. Always mic up acoustic guitars. I usually cloe mic and then add a bit of digital verb at mixdown.
