I just purchased the TM-D1000.

The store I purchased it from said that I could use any manufacturers type of TDIF 25-pin cable.

Is that true?

Or, do I need to purchase the tascam TDIF cable?

If that is the case, then where can I purchase it from ( I'm in Chicago)?

I purchased the Tascam 822PCI card, also.

Somebody, anybody please give me some info soon. :D

PEACE.....

You can use any manufacturers TDIF cable... Hosa, Tascam.. whatever... But it should be TDIF... thats different than just 25-pin ribbon cable. Its got a twist or something. But if it says TDIF.. it'll work. TDIF = Tascam Digital InterFace .

ps.. Guitar Center.

Thanks you very much guys and gals.

I just purchased a "Cable Up" cable from Guitar Center.

I have a simple question to ask you all.

I need the answer ASAP.

I need to run an AKAI MPC2000 (8OUTS) into the TASCAM TM-D1000 lines 1-8.

Then, I need to run the TDM1000 (TDIF OUT) into my computer (PCI822 TDIF), so I can track in Cakewalk 9.

I think I can set that up properly (by using DIRECT OUT).

1-8 ANALOGUE IN, TDIF-A OUT 1-8, then assign my Cake 9 tracks for input and output.?.

But, the killer question is how do I sync the 4 units.

MPC2000 into the TMD1000 into the PCI822 into Cakewalk9.

Should I have Cake9 be the MASTER DEVICE?

I need some help guys. I have to go to main studio in a couple of days, so it is imperative that I know how to configure this board correctly.

Also, when I go to the main studio, how should I connect and sync the TM-D1000 to the main studio's board and ProTools?

I need detailed answers.

Thank you very much my fellow HOMERECCA'S.... :D

like I said.. Im a dunce at MIDI... but heres what Id do..

TMD = MMC MASTER
send it closed loop to akai....
Akai's THRU s to PCI-822

PROBLEM 1
A lot of softwares have a real problem being MMC slaves. The above only holds if Cakewalk can chase MMC. If not.. can it send?
If so.. send it to the akai.. dont bother with the mixer.. it doesnt need to start or stop or anything... THIS is the easy solution..but it would be nice to use those buttons, eh?

If Cakewalk does NEITHER... then you are screwed.

ps I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT MIDI.

Thanks camn.

I appreciate the help.

I am a total novice when it comes to dealing with this board (TM-D1000) and "syncing" multiple devices. :D

I just opened up Cake 9, and it says that it can generate MMC. So, I can try to fiddle around with it later on tonight (when I get in from deejaying at the club).

Btw, I DON"T UNDERSTAND MIDI EITHER...:D

Talk with you later.

P.S. check your e-mail.
