I need info on this unit. To playback a recorded tape what buttons have to be engaged, the source or monitor and what about the back inputs. I acquired this unit and can't get the meters to move. It plays ok, just can hear anything throught the headphones. I know the tape has music, I have played it on another unit. Would appreciate any help.

To get playback you need headphones plugged in to the headphone out, or amp and speakers plugged into line outs
You need the output pots turned up, and you need the monitor section to be set to tape or play or whatever it says, not source.

It's also worth making sure that the heads are clean and that the tape is threaded right.
Look and see if the tape is touching the heads in plackback. You might have the tape running under the pinch roller rather than above it.
