TASCAM US1800 doesn't work with reaper?

Does the time out happen with driver or firmware update?

ah. found it. the tascam doesn't show up in system profiler, and the time out occured when trying to install the drivers, after I was prompted to plug in the interface.

No, just confirmed that it wasn't connecting haha. However Musicians friend accepted my return (awesome of them, since i bought it from them lightly used). Would another TASCAM 1800 be recomended? or a different interface?

Slightly used is just another word for someone f**ked it up in this case. Yeah, a working unit is quite worth getting.
