Hi, i am in the middle of my MS16 adjustment. There is a very slight tape curling on the upper end of the right side tape guide. Already tried adjusting it from the right tension roller height with no luck. THe left tension roller height works fine , but the right one only has impact over tape path when in FF or RW. When the pinch roller is engaged (in PLAY), the right tension roller height adjustment doesnt have any effect on the tape curling. I adjusted the height as per the manual and also by checking FF and RW so there is no tape movement when in FF, RW and when you the tape changes direction (from FF to RW).

There is a section in the manual called "Tape Path Fine Adjustment". Looks like what may help is the capstan azimuth which requires some "shims" in order to make this adjustment. (btw, i have a new pinch roller, so that is not the problem).

Has anyone done this procedure before ? any tips ? any other ideas, before i go mess with that ? :)

thanks a lot.

If the pinch roller can be flipped upside down, try it and see if the problem changes.

i flipped it, and i can see the wobble still. However, i think it looks different...hard to tell. How do i know if it is the rubber or the azimuth of the pinch roller or capstan ?
