Tascam DM-4800 - live monitoring

Hello !

I have a question for DM 4800 users.
For live situation, can i use the assignable sends to feed the active stage monitors, also i want to do a separate mix for each monitor. I will not use more than 4 monitors.

Thats the way I would do it. I would use the Aux sends to each fold back creating what ever mix I wanted in each fold back by adjusting the Aux send on each channel. You could use other options as the 4800 has lots of output options however the easiest choice is the Aux sends 1 through 8.

As far as using the internal assignable sends, I believe that they use the same outputs physically as the Aux sends. (some one correct me if im wrong) but the best option is to get an Aviom card for your mixer, then you can send 16 sends out while keeping your Aux sends for external effects such as re-verb etc. Its also good so your musicians can make their own mixes and it saves so much time and hassle.

I did find the manual to be somewhat lacking in the information relating to assignable sends and the many things that you can probably do etc..a little frustrating when you know your missing out on numerous features because the manual is poorly constructed to explain things.
