Tascam DA-P1

Hello. I recently bought a Tascam AP-P1 DAT recorder. After charging the unit still won't work, however it does work via the A-C power supply. The battery is charged to just over 8 volts DC, and the A-C power supply is producing over 14 volts at the battery terminals. Battery connections are not corroded. Any ideas? Thanks

I'm looking to buy a Tascam AP-P1 power supply cable if you have a spare ?
