Hello,
I just had my Tascam 488 serviced because Track 2 was malfunctioning during mix down. The service didn't help and the problem is the exact same.
Track 2 is inaudible during playback, or if I tap on the fader, it is sometimes audible, but much quieter than the other tracks and a bit fuzzy. It sounds like a connection issue, but I'm not sure.
Track 2 is completely fine when I'm playing back with 'tape cue', it only malfunctions during mix down.
Has anyone encountered this problem before and were you able to fix it yourself? If so, was opening the unit difficult, and any tips or things to avoid when opening it up?
I'd rather cut my losses and not return the unit to the same place, as it's a far distance away.
Thanks very much!
