the black keys - 388
hello,
If you'd like to hear records done on a 388 check out the black keys ..they've been on many folks best of lists for their last three cd's all done on 388...these guys have moved several hundred thousand units in the past couple years ..got money from a label (maybe fat possum ) tried a "real studio" didn;t dig it and made the new record on the 388 again.....sweet shit

of course the guys are going for the deconstructed blues thing and it's intentionally super raw..you can certainly make a polished sounding recording as well .. the options are many with this machine.

Dull sounding recordings (My band used a 388 for 10 years). My ears opened up with real tape machines. The 388 is good for putting ideas down quickly, but sonically sucks completely. I favor better machines myself.
