I have just bought a 2488 neo it's in the post. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions or hints to get going? Things to watch out for?
I will be recording possibly through a FMR RNC compressor with a RODE K2 doing Vox/Guitars/Bass/Drums, I may try a A3340s in the front end not sure about that, not sure if I need the FMR, perhaps on-board is ok?? I might loop in a Fender valve spring reverb unit.
I have the manual.

Hey Mick,

I used a 2488 for years ( not the NEO or the MK 11, just the original 2488).

I loved it, it works well, but I hated all the reverbs and the compressors.

If you have good outboard compression, you'll want to use it

Are the preamps ok for ribbon mikes or do you need a pre? One thing I don't understand is does a pre (eg FMR RNP) have to go through the 2488 pre? Or is the 2488 pre bypassed?

I think the reverbs and delays are excellent on the NEO and the MKII and Ive even compared em to my nice Alesis Wedge and the Wedge doesn't exactly blow them out of the window, matter a fact great combination and still have room for a 3rd aux. send and probably will be using the internal reverbs/delays plus 2 outboard units for mixdown from now on.....works flawlessly !!!
