Tascam 2488 Neo Auto Punch question

Hi, just learning my tascam 2488 neo. So far so good. Can anyone answer a question about the auto punch feature. I setup in-and out points. Hit Zero-return, AutoPunch and they Play and record. Problem is, when I hit play and record, I only have a few seconds to get ready before it jumps right to the Set in point and then the record light comes on. I want to be able to play along with the tune for 10 or seconds or more before it reaches the point where the autopunch and record start.

Change the pre-roll time on the recorder preferences menu.

Hit MENU then select PREFERENCES. Choose recorder preferences, then edit the pre-roll and post-roll times to your liking.

Hit Zero-return,

Not that it hurts anything, but there's no reason to hit Zero Return (I'm assuming you're talking about hitting Stop and Rewind at the same time, which brings you back to 00:00?)

As for the rest, do exactly what KenHR said.

Thanks for the speedy reply. i will try that tonight. I guess I dont need to acutally hit zero return if my punch is way in the middle or end of the song.
