Check the Tascam Forum.
If you open it up it's very likely the DP01 uses the same Hdrive...just guessing here. But manufacturing inventorys like to use the same part whenever possible and can then buy in greater bulk= cheaper.

I had a friend just put in a different brand in his 2488 and it works.

I guess at 7200rpm, same search time and close specs...its just a HD?

Can i put in a 200g HD drive or something any kind of HD will work???

Get a BBE Sonic Maximizer.
That will fix all your problems.
