I dug out my Tascam 246 out of storage space that I bought in 1989 for 950$!!! - I wrote a lot of songs on that thing.
I cleaned it up, found a cassette somewhere and tried it out - I noticed everything seems to work except the tape head carriage doesn't seem to move forward when I hit Play or Record. Am I missing something here? Is this an easy fix?
I put it on Craigslist without trying it out with a 'make me an offer' price and I got 15 emails within 30 minutes.
Now my curiosity is peaked. Hell, Springsteen's 'Nebraska' was recorded on one of these wasn't it?
