Tascam 122 - can't get an input level

I've installed the software and hooked everything up but I can't get an input level in the Mac "system prefernces" section. I can get the levels on the actual 122 unit to respond and even hear it using the headphone input on the 122. But can't get it to come through on my computer at all. I have absolutly no clue what the problem could be!
Using Powerbook G4/OS X
Please help!!!!!!
 
I recently starte dwiht a US-122 and had a simular problem. I am using OSX and downloaded the drivers form the Tascam site as instructed.

Remember the 122 must be plugged into a primary usb port, not a hub or keyboard.

Under system preferences, under sound you will see and input and output tab. Select both and make sure both have the Tascam selected and levels are set correctly there.

I am using Sound Studio, the Mac OEm bundled software from Feltip. It works well but I had to select the Tascam under preferences for both input and output, as well.
