hey I'm picking up a used tama rockstar from a geetar player friend of mine.... includes all hard ware, 2 cymbals not including hi hat... and a throne... $200... good deal? yay? nay? as u can see i know NOTHING about drums.... but can't wait to learn ;-)

Hell Yes it is!!

Those drums are selling new at like 7-800 buck with just hardware, and no cymbals. They aren't the greatest kits in the world, but you can make them just sound great with the right heads, and dampening. Buy the set!

I would snatch that deal in a heart-beat if I was you. Deals like that aren't around for long they aren't the best but u can definatly tweek the kit to sound great for any situation.

I used a Tama Rockstar DX for the first ten years of my drumming life. It's still sitting in the basement waiting for when my son is old enough to start giving it a go. With the right heads and tuning, they will give you a good, powerful sound.
