Takamine Preamps

Hey does anyone know where to get a good deal on Takamine preamps?

The preamp (N4B) in my G-series (EG-330C) finally bit the dust. I've had it for about 7 years so I guess I got my moneys worth.

Anyway, I cannot really find any store that sells them. I found one on Ebay, but it's not the one I want.

I've talked with Takamine and brand new the N4B goes for about $250!

Is it impossible to find a discount deal on these things?

Also, anyone have opinions on the different Tak pres? Which ones sound better or worse?

If it is a propriatary unit, you will have to pay their price. Nobody will have them for a discount. If it is just a copy of a Fishman unit, or a renamed Fishman unit, then you could get a Fishman Preamp, but it will likely cost you at least as much.

$250 for something like that is not at all unreasonable.
