okay...i know a lot of you are recommending wavelab over t-racks. I got both of them and I think i achieve best results using both of them.

t-racks is a mastering software with an interface based on analog mastering equipment.

wavelab is a WAVE EDITOR. Since I can't locate limiter or eq, i'm assuming it doesn't have either.

Now here's my question. Like I said, I use both...but how is wavelab alone mastering software when it doesn't have eq or limiting? or does it?

Wavelab is the best mastering program in the world, if you as me. The advantage it has over t-racks is plugins. Wavelab will use directx or vst plugins. Look into it a little more. I have wavelab, steinberg mastering edition plugins, and waves gold bundle 3.0. It's pretty kick ass...

where do i get plugins and how i install them? can i download them?

wavelab is definitely not the best mastering program, but it's up there somewhere.

dedicated systems like Sonic Solutions and SADiE are the top things to get, but they cost bucks.

I use Nuendo or Pro Tools to do mastering, and it is better than Wavelab in my opinion.

however, you can get excellent results using wavelab if you know what you're doing.

t-racks is junk in my opinion. it doesn't emulate valve sounding equipment at all. and it's hardly a mastering program. it's more of an FX unit to me.

get wavelab, and some nice plug ins, and yuo're sorted. even using the amount of free plugins will get you better results than bloody T-Racks.

ive said enough on this topic so if you want more info, go and search for the other 10,000 threads!

I think the same could be said of TR as well if its used in conjunction with a decent waveform editor. The key...is you have to know what your doing..and thats opening a can of worms in these forums.

Nuendo on the other hand, is expensive software with hunge capability in the hands of the right user. IMHO, no one piece of software and hardware can do everything...mixing an matching the tools to get the desired result for the material is where all the fun lies :)

Ya Baby ;)

the argument i was making was that t-racks is arguably a "mastering program".

anyway, im not going to delve into this. if you want to read the argument, search for the thread.

Argument,
Arguably,
and once again...
Argument.

I was just trying to keep up with the main Argument and I didn't want to break form in the forum. Forgive me ;)

LOLOLOL!!!

i just read what i posted and reaslied what i said...

hahah!

been recording all day mate, i didin't even think about how i phrased the post.

T-Racks is arguably a mastering program. i would definitely say it was not a mastering program, because it doesn't do half the things a mastering program requires.

thats all.....

i use nuendo and wavelab almost everyday. i like mastering under wavelab with either waves plugins and sometimes ozone

I bought Nuendo purely for post production work. it handles mastering very well. the fact that it's a really good recording system is awesome too.

I will only say this....

With a few decent plugins, Wavelab KILLS over TR. There are just more options....simple as that.

I have both and TR has only come in handy maybe 1 in 8 times. Really. And when TR is used it still gets tweaked in wavelab.
