I just got Protools M-Powered 8 and there is not many books out for it yet so I am asking a question that is probably pretty basic I would think.

If I record a clip with my camcorder and import the video file to protools and I also recorded the audio of that footage ( an acoustic performance ), is there an easy way to sync a specific time in the audio to play at a specific time in the video? For instance if its 2:35 seconds of footage before I start to play, but on the audio, I start to play at 2:10 seconds because the computer was started AFTER I had started the camera, how do I sync that up? Hopefully this is easy and not a pain in the butt. Thanks.

easiest way: video tape yourself clapping your hands together in front of the mic. Do this every time you press record.
Then when you go to edit the audio, line up the clap transient in the audio file with where you see yourself clap

this is how it's been done for years. That's what those clappers/markers are for on movie sets.

You should also be recording at 48khz sample rate (either 24bit or 16bit)

Recording at 44.1khz will ensure the audio will not sync with the video.

Final audio file to be joined to the video needs to be 16bit/48khz (video standard).

Awesome, I will try that tomorrow and let you know if it works out for me. Thanks for the help guys.
